Our world is so chaotic. It seems that we are so busy, we do not have time to sit and relax. If you are like me, we wake up running and then crash at night. We do not take the time to care for ourselves, because we are too busy taking care of everyone else. Some days, I can’t decide if I want to scream or cry, as I am so tired from the craziness of the day. Then, when I try to rest, my mind is running a thousand miles a minute. As soon as I put my head on a pillow, I remember everything I forgot to do that day. Then I switch to worrying about the family. Oh, and I stress about what I am going to make for dinner the next day. Subsequently, we are running on empty by the end of the day. Then we it is time for our meals, we are tempted to call out for pizza, or stop by a burger joint on the way home from work due to the fact that we are too tire to cook anything.
HOW DO WE CALM OUR SOULS?
Mindfulness is the awareness of ones internal state and surroundings. The goal of mindfulness is to learn to stay present in the moment. As we learn to be in a state of mindfulness, we break out of bad habits and gain a better state of wellbeing. This leads to a healthier life. Learning mindfulness meditation can reduce anxiety and depression, halt emotional eating, and help you balance your life. Mindfulness can help people who have been through trauma, those who suffer from chronic pain, and take you to a state of wellbeing. Anyone can learn how to use mindfulness. A mix of meditation and guided imagery, mindfulness will wake up your inner being and allow you to relax and release stress, anxiety and depression. By learning how to put yourself in a state of mindfulness, it will become second nature to use this technique any time you are getting stressed, worried, anxious, or depressed.
